  • A nerve block involves the injection of a nerve-blocking agent, like lidocaine, to temporarily "turn off" the nerve, resulting in reduced pain. In some cases, a steroid is administered alongside the blocking agent to alleviate inflammation and swelling around the affected nerves.   • A small needle is used to precisely "inject" the nerve-blocking agent and/or steroid into specific locations, aiming to alleviate pain effectively.
